The Virgin and Child tapestry is based on art by the renowned fourteenth century Italian painter, Barnaba da Modena (1330-1386). Barnaba da Modena's most famous works include The Coronation of the Virgin, The Trinity, Virgin and Child, and The Crucifixion.
The original painting of Virgin and Child by Barnaba de Modena is curently located in the museum of Louvre, Paris.

The city of Bruges, located in Belgium, is home to one of Michelangelo’s most famous and cherished pieces of art. Madonna and Child is a marble sculptural depiction of the Virgin Mary and her child Jesus. Sculpted in 1504, it stands 128 centimeters in height.
The sculpture is located in the Church of Our Lady, Bruges.
This tapestry evokes early Renaissance life in the castles. The majesty and richness of the people's dresses is amplified by the darker thousand-flower background design. This series called 'La Tenture de la Vie Seigneuriale' consist of six tapestries, made in the beginning of the 16th century.
